Curriculum Silke Aichhorn- Harp
Silke Aichhorn is the most requested german harpist also per¬forming as a soloist as well as in chamber formations. The public and critics alike widely applaud her concerts- and she is considered to be one of the few harpists who is success¬ful in presenting the harp as soloinstrument.
Aichhorn started the harp with Ursula Lentrodt, then she studied with Chantal Mathieu at the well-known Lausanne Conservatory, Switzerland, where she received first prize with honours, and with Han-An Liu at the Hochschu¬le Köln, Germany. In addition she has won numerous cultural awards and prices in in¬ternational competitions.
Thanks to her vast repertoire and experience in various chamber formations, she is regu¬larly invited at international music festivals and as soloist with orchestras.
A frequent guest in radio and television pro¬grams, she also gives concerts all over Europe and has been invited to Brazil, Thailand, Japan, Australia and the U.S.A.
She regularly gives master clas¬ses and is invited as jury member for harp competitions, her educational experience comes up to 30 years of teaching.
Until now she has recorded 22 CDs. In 2006 she founded her own CD-Label HÖRMUSIK.
In 2012 she was awarded with the title „culture- and creativepilot“ from the initiative culture- and creative economy of the federal german government.
In 2013 she was awarded hospice ambassadress for the caritas in Traunstein.
Silke Aichhorn is mother of two girls and lives with her family in Upper-Bavaria/ Germany.
In 2014 she had the privilege to play together with her flutist Prof. Dejan Gavric, a privat-concert for Pope emeritus Benedikt XVI in Radio Vatican.
Also in 2014 she played the first performance of the concerto op.9 by Ernst Eichner at the World Harp Congres in Sydney/Australia.
Since 2016 she is managing director of the regional board for the youth competition "Jugend musiziert" south-east-Bavaria.
The mother of two girls lives with her Family in Upper Bavaria/Germany.
