Silke Aichhorn www.SilkeAichhorn.de is one of the most requested and versatile harpists of her generation, performing as a soloist as well as in chamber formations. The public and critics alike widely applaud her concerts- and she is considered to be one of the few harpists who is successful in presenting the harp as soloinstrument.

Aichhorn studied at the well-known Lausanne Conservatory, Switzerland, where she received first prize with honours, and at the university Cologne, Germany. In addition she has won numerous cultural awards and prices in international competitions.

Thanks to her vast repertoire and experience in various chamber formations, she is regularly invited at international music festivals and as soloist with prestigious orchestras such as the Württembergisches Kammerorchester Heilbronn, the Philharmonisches Orchester Halle, the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, the Münchner Symphoniker, and the SWR-Rundfunkorchester Kaiserlautern.

A frequent guest in radio and television programs, she also gives concerts all over Europe and has been invited to Japan and the U.S.A.

She is a member of the Trio ArpaCantabile (Soprano-Mezzosoprano-Harp) and of the Austrian Ensemble for New Music of Salzburg ÖENM.
In 2004 Aichhorn held a substitute teaching position in the Conservatory of Feldkirch/Vorarlberg. In 2006 she founded her own CD-label HÖRMUSIK, until now she has recorded eleven CDs.
