Silke Aichhorn is one of the most requested european harpists also performing as a soloist as well as in chamber formations. The public and critics alike widely applaud her concerts- and she is considered to be one of the few harpists who is successful in presenting the harp as soloinstrument.
Aichhorn studied the harp with Prof. Ursula Lentrodt, Prof. Chantal Mathieu and Prof. Han-An Liu, she has won numerous cultural awards and prices in international competitions. Thanks to her vast repertoire and experience in various chamber formations, she is regularly invited at international music festivals and as soloist with orchestras.
A frequent guest in radio and television programs, she also gives concerts all over Europe and has been invited to Hongkong, Brazil, Thailand, Japan, Australia and the U.S.A.
She regularly gives master classes and is invited as jury member for harp competitions, her educational experience comes up to 33 years of teaching.
Until now she has recorded 25 CDs. In 2006 she founded her own CD-Label HÖRMUSIK.
In 2012 she was awarded with the title „culture- and creativepilot“ from the initiative culture- and creative economy of the federal german government.
In 2013 she was awarded hospice ambassadress for the caritas in Traunstein.
In 2014 she had the privilege to play together with her flutist Prof. Dejan Gavric, a privat-concert for Pope emeritus Benedikt XVI in Radio Vatican.
Also in 2014 she played the first performance of the concerto op.9 by Ernst Eichner at the World Harp Congres in Sydney/Australia.
Since 2016 she is managing director of the regional board for the youth competition “Jugend musiziert” south-east-Bavaria.
In 2017 she played the first performance of the concerto F-Major by Johann Wilhelm Hertel at the World Harp Congres in Hongkong.
Since 2018 she performs in a cabaret lecture “Lifelong rejoicing” stories of her musician life, in 2019 her first book on this subject appeared and became soon a bestseller.
The mother of two girls lives with her Family in Upper Bavaria/Germany, she manages herself fast, uncomplicated and professionally.
